Our members are diverse and their reason for being part of the Y family is equally diverse. The Y intentionally creates an environment that is encouraging and welcoming to all. We have a wide range of offerings to meet the needs and interests of our members - from tots to seniors, from beginners to advanced exercisers, from individual workouts to group exercise. The Shasta Family YMCA doors are open, come be part of the family.
Meet some of our members....
In 2003, Jen volunteered in Child Watch and fell in love with the Y. She enjoys making new friends in the group exercise classes, and has helped connect other people together as well. In her opinion, the workout is just an added bonus, the friendships and camaraderie is what really matters. Of course, as an early morning exerciser, she thinks the free morning coffee is wonderful, too.
Alex loves the Y because everyone is cheerful and helpful, and the facility is clean. He enjoys spending time with friends over coffee after their morning spin class. Alex appreciates the atmosphere the Y provides.
Gina has been a Y member for almost 8 years. She and her family house Ukrainian refugees and she appreciates the Y's generosity toward our community members. Gina loves the variety of classes and how skilled and encouraging the instructors are. They help keep her healthy! Plus, she likes that there are things for children to do as well as adults.
